HOUSEHOLD ALLOWANCE

COSTS OF ACCOMMODATION, RENT, ELECTRICITY, COMMON CHARGES, FUEL, SOCIAL ASSISTANCE AND ALLOWANCES

Household allowance is available for households with social needs to provide financial support for recurring expenses related to maintaining dwellings or other non-residential premises in the 12th District that are inhabited by members of the household. The primary purpose of the allowance is to prevent the accumulation of arrears.

Household allowance shall be provided primarily as social benefits in kind (by cash transfers to the utility companies), and in relation to those recurring expenses related to dwelling maintenance the default on which endangers the secure housing of the applicant the most. The allowance of applicants residing in rented council dwellings shall primarily serve to cover expenses related rent and reduced common charges.

Benefits may be provided to:

persons eligible under the municipality Rules, for the purposes of covering electricity, water, gas, heating, wastewater charges, as well as rent, common charges and fuel expenses; as well as

persons receiving debt management services.

A person is entitled to household allowance where the monthly income per capita in the household does not exceed 77,500 HUF and no members of the household possess assets defined by the Social Welfare Act.

ADMINISTRATION PROCESS

The completed form with the required instruments shall be submitted to the Welfare Office (Népjóléti Iroda).
