The new 30-day county passes and the national pass have been available for purchase since May 1st. By them you can travel on intercity buses and trains at a discount: the pass valid for one county costs HUF 9,450, while the national pass costs HUF 18,900. The student pass costs HUF 945 and HUF 1,890. The new passes can also be redeemed by foreign citizens, but it is important to know that they can only be used on regional (non-reserved-seat and non-1st class) lines, and are not valid for Budapest’s local lines or for other cities’ local lines.
