Farewell on Svábhegy. On the occasion of Pentecost, true to tradition, the Diana Park in Svábhegy will be the venue of colorful family programs from 18 to 20 May. The music and dance event features Swabian specialties and good beers, while sramli music plays and traditional dance groups present their productions. The Kalamajka Puppet Theatre, the Katáng Ensemble and Rolando, the magician, will perform at the farewell, and the organizers will prepare numerous play opportunities, carousels, face painting, handicrafts, a bouncy castle and a petting zoo to make the children feel blissfull.
Health screenings. On Friday, May 24, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., the local government will hold a health day at the MOM Cultural Center (18 Csörsz St.). This includes free screening tests, including blood sugar, cholesterol and blood pressure measurements, heart ultrasound, prostate cancer screening, allergy tests, lung function tests and functional health checks.
Jazzy Festival. Between 17 and 20 May, Jazzy Radio awaits its guests at the music festival organized by it in the entire indoor and outdoor area of MOMkult (18 Csörsz St.) with twenty-two concerts, four DJs, forty wineries and the best food trucks of the city. Each day an international big gun closes the evening. On Friday, the audience can party at a concert by PASO and world-famous British band Matt Bianco. On Saturday, after Nikolas Takács' concert, French nu jazz band Electro Deluxe will mix elements of soul, funky, swing and hip-hop on stage. On Sunday, we can admire the singing of British diva Izo Fitzroy. On Monday, László Dés and Dutch soul singer Sharon Kovacs will perform. The concerts in the courtyard of MOMkult and on the Seagull Promenade start already in the afternoon, with performances by Anima Sound System, Lőrinc Barabás, Ladánybene 27, Los Orangutanes, Melody Maker, Péter Sárik, Zolbert, Gyula Élias, Boggie Csemer, Sena, Ruby Harlem and Berci Temesi with friends.
Exhibitions in the Hegyvidék. The newest exhibition of the Hegyvidék Gallery (10 Királyhágó Sqr.) entitled Artists on the battlefield can be visited until 22 May, focusing on the works of painters László Mednyánszky (1852-1919) and István Nagy (1873-1937) during the First World War. In Villa Barabás (44 Városmajor St.) until 23 May, the exhibition ’Feel’ features abstract, mixed-technique works by Stockholm-born Cedric Af Geijersstam. Sarolta Gerzson's photo exhibition entitled "Who looks into the blue sky" can be viewed from 11 May to 14 June in the Jókai Club (5 Hollós Rd.), while graphic artist Károly Pató will present his works from 7 May to 14 June in the corridor gallery on the first floor of the mayor's office (23-25 Böszörményi Rd).
