The garage sale goes on. After the winter break, the Hegyvidék Unloading Shop will resume, the first fair this year will take place on March 24 from 10:00 to 14:00 on Városháza Square. (If it rains, the program will be on April 7.) Registered fairgoers - on a total of forty tables - can sell their items that they no longer need but others can still benefit from and enjoy them.

 

Free branch shredding. It is again possible to apply for the branch shredding program free of charge for residents of district XII. Within the framework of the action organized by the Hegyvidék Green Office, the contractor shreds freshly cut branches and twigs with a maximum diameter of 20 centimetres formed during garden works on site, in an amount of up to 10 m3. The chips are not transported and can be used locally for mulching or composting. Subject to availability, the free service can only be requested online, with the identified Hegyvidék Account on the eugyintezes.hegyvidek.hu/agapritas site, until 13:00 on April 19.

 

The swimming pool is open all weekend. The energy renovation of the Városmajor Swimming Pool (29 Városmajor St.) has been completed by the planned deadline, so from March it will welcome guests again according to the previous weekend opening hours (Saturday 9.00-18.30, Sunday 8.00-18.30). Since last November, pensioners over 65 years old from District XII can swim here free of charge on Saturdays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm. From this year, within the framework of the Active Hegyvidék program, on Saturdays from 13.00 to 17.00, all guests with a XII. district address card can use the swimming pool free of charge.

 

Performance tour in the footsteps of the children's railway. On March 15, between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., a performance tour will start from the Széchenyihegy station of the children's railway. The goal is Hűvösvölgy, the distance to be completed is 20 kilometres. The route passes through all stations of the railway and the main sights of the area, the area around the Normafa slope, the Erzsébet lookout tower on János hill, the Kaán Károly lookout tower on Nagy-hárs hill and the Nagyrét in Hűvösvölgy. You can register at the start, the full-price entry fee is 1800 HUF. By presenting the check card received at the start, participants can take the train back from Hűvösvölgy to Széchenyihegy station free of charge.

 

Crossover music experiences. In the MOM Cultural Centre (18 Csörsz St.) on March 17, from 7:00 pm, we can listen to the symphonic work "Conquest", as well as songs by Mobilmania and Tunyogi Rock Band in a special arrangement, with the participation of rock singer Gyula Vikidál and the symphony orchestra of the Vasas Art Ensemble. On March 19, from 7:00 p.m., the evergreen hits of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra will be interpreted by the Debrecen Big Band, and on March 21, from 7:00 p.m., the Budapest Bar, a hugely popular band reviving the genre of gypsy music in the café, will perform with their spring welcome concert.

 

Bach for everyone. As part of the Bach for Everyone Festival organized for the tenth time this year, offering free classical music programs, pianist Endre Hegedűs, tuba player László Zalán Kovács and the choir of Julianna Reformed Primary School will give a concert on March 18 at 6:00 p.m. in the MOM Cultural Centre (18 Csörsz St.). On March 23, from 11:00 a.m., accordionist Mihály Demeniv, cellist Riku Hagiwara and ballet artist-dance teacher Melinda Pétery will present the wonderful music of Johann Sebastian Bach to children and their families in their own art form under the title Musical Instrument Caress.
