Advent in the Hegyvidék. From 2 to 23 December, the Hegyvidék Advent Market awaits visitors with a wide range of handicraft products and festive delicacies, as well as a variety of programs on Városháza Square. The evening concerts will start at 6 pm: the Saxbusters Saxophone Quartet will perform on December 2, the AlmAcoustic Duo on the 3rd, the Leggiero Saxophone Quartet on the 8th, the Daniel Speer Bass on the 9th and the duet Klára Hajdu & Milán Szakonyi on the 10th.

 

Concerts at MOMkult. At the MOM Cultural Centre (18 Csörsz St.) on 2 December from 6.30 pm, Balázs Zságer will offer a meditative electronic music experience as part of his Transcendent Waves series. On December 7, from 6 pm, the String Orchestra of the György Solti Music School will invite its audience on a journey from baroque to film music with Christmas music, and on December 12, from 7 pm, Zoltán Bereczki will present the pieces from his album Winter Songs. On December 13, from 7 pm, one can choose between two concerts: the Ars Nova Sacra Vocal Ensemble in the dome hall and the Lumen Christi Gospel Choir in the theatre hall.

 

The municipality will organize a charity community event entitled Christmas Ugly Hoodie Run on 10 December from 9.30 am. For the easy adventure run starting from Városháza Square, everyone from the youngest to the oldest is welcome in the kitskiest, ugliest or funniest Christmas hoodie, scarf and hat, who can hand over their gifts for the residents of the Sztehlo Gábor Children's Home before the start. You can register for the event by clicking on the link on the momkult.hu/events/karacsonyi-ronda-pulcsis-futas page, where you can choose what you want to donate to the children from the gifts they want.

 

Free sports programs. As part of the Active Hegyvidék program launched by the local government, residents of district XII can enjoy several sports programs free of charge in December as well. Aerobics can be attended on Mondays (18.30–19.30) and Tuesdays (18.00–19.00) at the Tamási Áron School (34 Mártonhegyi Rd.), on Wednesdays (18.00–19.00, 19.00–20.00) at the Jókai Mór School (4 Diana Street) and Tamási (19.30–20.30), on Thursday (19.00–20.00) at the Németvölgyi School (42–46 Németvölgyi Rd.), and on Fridays (17.00–18.00) at the Arany János School (1 Meredek St.). On Monday we can go to Jókai (18.00–19.00, 19.00–20.00) and Tamási (19.30–20.30), on Wednesday (18.30–19.30) to Tamási, on Thursday (18.00–19.00) to Németvölgyi, and on Friday (16.00–17.00) to Gold. The Hegyvidék Sports Centre (29 Városmajor St.) offers table tennis on Mondays (17.45–18.45) and Saturdays (9.00–10.00). (Aerobics, sparing gymnastics and table tennis classes only take place during the study period, not during school holidays!) MOM Sport (14-16 Csörsz St.) offers Zumba on Mondays (15.00–16.00) and Wednesdays (17.00–18.00), and integral yoga on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (20.00–21.00). CrossFit functional training can be held at the artificial turf football fields at 71 Városmajor Street on Mondays and Wednesdays (18.00–19.30). The Gesztenyés-kert Running Club holds its training sessions on Tuesday (18.30–19.30) at the Dr. Koltai Jenő Sports Center (2–10 Csörsz St.), gathering at 6.00 pm at MOM Sport. The University of Physical Education (44 Alkotás St.) In Building "D" on Wednesdays (17.30–19.00) we can practice taekwondo self-defence techniques. The team of hikers will hike in the Buda Hills on 16 December – more details can be found on the szabadsagvandor.fw.hu page.
