Saplings for Hegyvidék Citizens. District XII will be greener by more than a thousand trees, and within the framework of the Shady Hegyvidék program, a total of 1152 saplings were requested by the inhabitants of the area. The Hegyvidék citizens could choose from native tree species that cope well with urban climates those that are best suited for their garden. A maximum of four saplings could be requested for one property, which was taken advantage of by the majority of those interested.
The Zugliget Chairlift will not run till spring. The Zugliget Chairlift will be closed until 31 March 2024 due to maintenance works. BKV Zrt. will refund the price of tickets that are still valid for one- or two-way travel, but expire during the maintenance.
Family morning. On November 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., families will be awaited with various programs in the Hegyvidék Cultural Salon (2 Törpe St.). A green-themed science playhouse, handicrafts, a dance house and a concert by the Golden Gate Children's Orchestra enrich the offer.
Pétanque in the park. Within the framework of the Children's Picnic in the Hegyvidék program series, on 16 November at 10.30 a.m., visitors can try pétanque, a ball game popular among French people, in the Geszetnyéskert. No prior training, special knowledge, extra stamina is needed, just a little cheer!
Dance programs. On November 19, from 4 p.m., you can dance to nostalgic tunes in MOMkult (18 Csörsz St.), while on November 24, from 8 p.m., you can learn Moldavian Csángó Hungarian songs and dances in the dance house of the Zurgó ensemble.
Classical, jazz and electronic music. The Aviso String Quartet will hold a pleasant evening of music and wine entitled Hangő Bor on November 16 from 6 p.m. in Barabás Villa (44 Városmajor Street). On 20 November from 7 p.m., an international group of young adults will delight the audience with their Christmas Miracle Musical, on 21 November from 7.30 p.m. Orsolya Perczel-Kováts' musical journey entitled Feeling Good will feature the most well-known jazz, pop, swing, ballad, Latin, blues and funky melodies, and on 23 November from 7 p.m. the Chameleon Jazz Band will give an anniversary concert on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its foundation. On 26 November at 7.45 pm, Wave of Sound, combining modern classical and ambient music styles, will present the material of their album Pieces & Sketches at the Lóvasút (64. Zugligeti Rd). Before that, from 7 p.m., Ildikó Palágyi will perform, who will mix art-pop, jazz and live electronics in her music.
Christmas tree decoration workshop. The Hungarian Bioculture Association organizes a free Christmas tree decoration workshop at the Eco Market on 25 November on the Sirály Promenade. From 10 am to 12 pm at the community tent of the market, we can watch Ildikó Dezső how to create unique ornaments from natural materials.
Presentation of graphics and photos. The exhibition entitled Unknown III. by graphic artist Tamás Bereznai and photographers Balázs Deim and Imre Drégely is open until 25 November in the Hegyvidék Gallery (10. Királyhágó sqr.), which is the latest version of an organically developing exhibition series. In Barabás Villa (44 Városmajor Street) from 15 November Boglárka G. Horváth will present the latest pieces of her graphic series, entitled Leonardo Smiles in Buda.
Hungarian movies with English subtitles. Two new Hungarian films with English subtitles can be viewed at CinemaMOM (53 Alkotás St.). One of them is the comedy Cicaverzum, which tells the story that a young woman who is struggling to find a match is courted by a black cat one day. The other film is the drama Explanation of Everything, which won a prestigious award at the Venice International Film Festival, which captures the essence of a divided country through the scandalous graduation exam of an 18-year-old boy.
