Cogwheel train and chairlift out of service. Due to track renovation, the cogwheel is not expected to run until December 10. Instead, a replacement bus 60A between Svábhegy and Széchenyi Hill, 60B between St. John's Hospital and Pethényi Road, and 60B between St. John's Hospital and Esze Tamás School (Rőzse Street) will be put in service. While bus 60 runs full-time, the 60A and 60B operate beyond the weekday morning and afternoon periods, so the intention to travel can be indicated on the online application interface of BKK Telebus, in the BudapestGO application or by calling +36-1/3-255-255 at the latest 30 minutes before the departure time. The Zugliget Chairlift will not run in these weeks either, until November 30, due to maintenance works.

 

Swimming on Saturdays. From November, the Városmajor Swimming Pool (29 Városmajor St.) awaits guests wishing to swim not only on weekday evenings, but also on Saturday mornings. On Saturdays, between 9.00 and 13.00, retired residents of the XII. district of age over 65 years old can use the swimming pool free of charge. Free admission requires the presentation of an address card and proof of age.

 

Free sports programs. Within the framework of the Active Hegyvidék program launched by the local government, the residents of district XII can use several sports programs free of charge. Aerobics can be attended on Mondays (18.30–19.30) and Tuesdays (18.00–19.00) at the Tamási Áron School (Mártonhegyi út 34), on Wednesdays (18.00–19.00, 19.00–20.00) at the Jókai Mór School (Diana Street 4.) and Tamási (19.30–20.30), on Thursday (19.00–20.00) at the Németvölgyi School (42-46 Németvölgyi Rd.), and on Fridays (17.00–18.00) at the Arany János School (1 Meredek St.). On Monday we can go to Jókai (18.00–19.00, 19.00–20.00) and Tamási (19.30–20.30), on Wednesday (18.30–19.30) to Tamási, on Thursday (18.00–19.00) to Németvölgyi, and on Friday (16.00–17.00) to Arany. MOM Sport (14–16 Csörsz St.) offers zumba on Mondays (15.00–16.00) and Wednesdays (17.00–18.00), Tuesdays (20.30–21.30) and Wednesday evenings (20.00–21.00). The Hegyvidék Sports Centre (29 Városmajor St.) offers functional training on Mondays (18.00–19.30) and Wednesdays (19.00–20.30), and table tennis on Mondays (17.45–18.45) and Saturdays (9.00–10.00). The Gesztenyés garden Running Club will hold its training sessions in the park on Tuesdays (6.30 pm – 7.30 pm) from November 14. The University of Physical Education (44 Alkotás St.) In Building "D" you can take part in taekwondo training on Wednesdays (17.30–19.00). The team of hikers will explore the Gödöllő Hills on November 4 and the Buda Hills on November 18 – more details on the szabadsagvandor.fw.hu webpage.

 

Concerts in the Hegyvidék. On the birthday of legendary pianist György Cziffra, János Balázs will hold a piano recital on November 5 from 7.30 pm at MOMkult (18 Csörsz St.). On 12 November at 6:00 p.m., the outstanding students of the George Solti Music School will bring fairies, goblins and mysterious elves to life with the help of works by Schumann, Grieg, Debussy and other classical composers. On the Horse Railway (Lóvasút, 64 Zugligeti Rd.) on 11 November from 4.45 pm, the Surján Chamber Ensemble awaits children and their parents for a family concert featuring compositions by Mozart, Haydn, Dvořak and Glazunov.

 

Photo and graphic exhibitions. The joint exhibition entitled Unknown III. by graphic artist Tamás Bereznai and photographers Balázs Deim and Imre Drégely can be seen at the Hegyvidék Gallery (10 Királyhágó Sqr.) between 3 and 25 November, which is the latest version of an organically developing exhibition series for 2023. Andrea Kiss's exhibition entitled I, which explores the secrets of being a woman, can be viewed at the Hegyvidék Cultural Salon (2 Törpe St.) between 9 and 26 November.
