Dog day, not just for dog owners. In order to form an attitude, in order to ensure the peaceful coexistence of dog keepers and those without a dog, the local government will organize a dog day in the Gesztenyés kert (Chestnut Garden) on 8th May from 10 am. The programs include a dog show, a dog-owner test, and those interested can also get acquainted with agility, mantrailing and dogathlon is as well.

Support for tree pest control. The Green Office of the Hegyvidék Municipality announced a public action to control the main pests of horse chestnut trees, sycamore and oak trees. One-time injection or two-times spraying can be requested with a 50% municipal subsidy, so you have to pay 16,510 HUF instead of 33,020 HUF for the former procedure, and only 7,000 HUF per tree instead of 14,000 HUF for the latter. The subsidized pest control can be applied for as an identified customer on the website eugyintezes.hegyvidek.hu until 4 pm on 5th May. Demolition on Böszörményi út. Simultaneously with the publication of our newspaper, the structural demolition of three obsolete office buildings in the area bounded by Beethoven utca, Böszörményi út and Szoboszlai utca will begin. The demolition is expected to be completed by the contractors in early to mid-summer. The municipality plans to build a modern residential complex in the area, with an underground car park for those living in the area, as well as shops and new GP surgeries located on the ground floor.

The Money Museum has opened. Visitors can learn about the history of money and economic development at the recently opened Money Museum in Széll Kálmán tér with the help of English and Chinese subtitles, in addition to the Hungarians. In addition to the numerous old coins and other memorabilia, a number of interactive games and special experiences await those interested in the exhibition. For example, we can design our own banknote, press a coin, and hold in our hands a piece of the country's gold reserves, a gold block weighing 12 kilograms, which worths a quarter of a billion forints. The new museum can be visited free of charge, but an appointment must be made on the penzmuzeum.hu website.

Overtake the cogwheel! Organized by Hegyvidéki Szabadidősport Nonprofit Kft., on the 23rd April we can race and try to overtake the cogwheel (upwards!), either by running individually or in a shift team or by bike. Starting from the Diós ditch, a distance difference of 325 meters has to be overcome over a distance of about 4.5 kilometers. Hiking competitions also start from the Zugliget Primary School (distance about 7 km) and from the upper cogwheel terminal (distance about 2 km). The latter tour is open to kindergarteners from District XII. You can register for the competitions at the start locations (no later than 30 minutes before the start), or you can also register on the hegyvideksport.hu/jelentkezes website until 20th April.

Programs for the elderly. A variety of programs in the organization of the municipality and its institutions await the senior citizens in the coming weeks. For example, there will be a pétanque session in the Gesztenyés kert (Chestnut Garden) on 20th April, 4th May and 18th May, and those who join a guided walk on 4th May, will be able to admire the orchids on Sas-hegy (Sas Hill) (meeting at 2 pm on the corner of Hegyalja út and Dayka Gábor utca). Participation in the programs is free of charge, but it is necessary to indicate the intention to participate by sending an email to Kocsis.JuditIlona@hegyvidek.hu or by calling +36 70 938 9626.

Movies in English. In CinemaMOM (XII., Alkotás u. 53.), the superhero film Batman and a fantasy adventure film, the Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, can also be viewed in English (with Hungarian subtitles). On 20th and 23rd April a K-pop band called Seventeen, on 26th April Mick Fleetwood and friends, and on 27th October the Hungarian alternative rock band Carson Coma’s concert film will be on the show.
